Morris Day and The Gap Experience

Friday, April 6, 2018

8:00pm, Gates Open at 7:00pm

With his dynamic dancing and smooth yet gutsy, vocals, Morris Day played an essential role in the development of the Twin City dance/club sound of the 1980s. A founding member of Prince’s band, the Time, in 1981, he remained with the group until 1984 when he launched his solo career. Returning for the first time in 1988, he performed and recorded with the Time from 1990 until 1991 and since 1995.

The music influences and the stage presence that gave birth to the legendary group “The Gap Band” flows through “Gap Experience The Band” founding members. The names recognized by the Gap Band nation – Oliver Scott, Raymond Calhoun, Billy Young, Roman Johnson, Baby Gap and Terry Scott unite to come to the stage once again! The core group who wrote, recorded and toured the world as The Gap Band are bringing the original rhythm and funk back!

Gladys Knight

Friday, April 20, 2018

8:00pm, Gates Open at 7:00pm

The great ones endure, and Gladys Knight has long been one of the greatest. Very few singers over the last fifty years have matched her unassailable artistry. This seven-time Grammy winner has enjoyed #1 hits in Pop, Gospel, R&B and Adult Contemporary, and has triumphed in film, television and live performance.

Georgia born, Knight began performing gospel music at age four in the Mount Mariah Baptist Church and sang as a guest soloist with the Morris Brown College Choir. Since then she has appeared on the small screen in Lifteime original movie “Seasons of Love” and in the second season of Centric’s original series “Apollo Live.” No stranger to performing, Knight put on her dancing shoes in the spring of 2012 as she joined the cast of ABC’s hit reality competition “Dancing with the Stars” for Season 14.

All told, Knight has recorded more than 38 albums over the years, including four solo albums during the past decade: “Good Woman” (1991); “Just for You” (1994); the inspirational “Many Different Roads” (1999); and “At Last” (2001). “At Last” showed the world that she still has what it takes to record a hit album, employing the talents of contemporary producers like Randy Jackson, Gary Brown and James D.C. Williams III, Jon John, Jamey Jaz, Keith Thomas, Tom Dowd and Tiger Roberts.

Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo

Saturday, July 21, 2018 8:00pm, Gates Open at 7:00pm

Pat Benatar has always been a rule-breaker and a trail-blazer, she remains a bold and distinctive artist both on stage and on record, and now, after more than three decades in rock ‘n’ roll, she’s a bonafide living legend.

A four-time Grammy winner, Benatar is a classically trained mezzo-soprano. During the 1980s, Benatar had two RIAA-certified Multi-Platinum albums, five RIAA-certified Platinum albums, three RIAA-certified Gold albums and 19 Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 hits, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”, “Love Is a Battlefield”, “We Belong” and “Invincible”. Her hits continue to be as unforgettable now as they were at the dawn of MTV, when Pat emerged, fearless, fighting and forging a path for other female rock stars around the world.

Neil Giraldo, has been a professional musician, producer, arranger and songwriter for over four decades now, changing the face of the pop charts throughout the 1980s with his collaborator, muse and wife. More than just an explosive steel-bending guitar player, Giraldo’s innovative vision helped him create the signature Benatar sound, from its inception.

Giraldo and Benatar took over radios, TVs, jukeboxes, turntables and car stereos around the world, throughout the 1980s and beyond, exciting fans and selling millions of copies of their twelve original albums, as well as two live records and an anthology.
